Dr. Robin Millar is
the Executive Director of the Centre for Education
and Work. She has been an adult educator and trainer
for over 20 years. She has experience in workplace
development in literacy and prior learning assessment.
She has designed and developed PLA projects in collaboration
with many partners from industry, labour, post-secondary
education and accrediting bodies.
Prior to coming to the Centre for Education and
Work, Dr. Millar worked at the Manitoba Prior Learning
Assessment Centre for three years from 1998-2001
as Projects Manager and Executive Director. Dr.
Millar has worked in England and the United States,
as well as Canada. She has been an instructor on
the Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education
(CACE) program delivered through the University
of Manitoba, and has delivered courses and workshops
for adult educators in Canada, the United States,
and England.
Dr. Millar holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership
from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.
She is the author of numerous published articles
and regularly presents at national and international
educational conferences. Most recently, Dr. Millar
was the keynote speaker at the Canadian Association
for Prior Learning Assessment national conference.

Maria Gill is the Associate
Director of the Centre for Education and Work. She
has worked in Adult Education as a teacher, program
evaluator, developer and administrator for over
20 years. Her specialties are in curriculum development,
program development, and evaluation.
Maria Gill holds a Masters degree from Texas A&M
University. She has presented her research at national
education conferences.
Prior to coming to the Centre for Education and
Work, Maria was the Projects Manager at the Prior
Learning Assessment Centre. She has worked in adult
education in both Canada and the United States.
