What is DACUM?
DACUM (Develop A Curriculum) is an innovative facilitative
approach to both developing curriculum and conducting
an occupational analysis. It is an effective method to
determine quickly the tasks that must be performed by
persons employed in a given job or occupational area.
This data can then be used to form the framework of a
program or course curriculum, or can be used to develop
a competency-based job profile.
How it Works
A group of Subject Matter Experts (SME's) are organized
together to discuss their occupation in a group setting.
The process is guided with the use of a facilitator and
recorder. Click on the pictures to find out more.

The Outcome
Upon completion of the DACUM process an occupational analysis
chart or outcomes chart is generated based on the participation
of the Subject Mater Experts(SME's). This chart is often
distributed to other SME's in other regions to validate
the information gathered. The information gathered during
the DACUM process is used to generate program and course
curriculum, or used in the workplace to develop accurate
occupations. View
