Annual General Report 2004 (PDF)
The Centre for Education and Work (CEW) is a not-for-profit
organization incorporated in 2001 in affiliation with
the University of Winnipeg. The CEW is board-governed
with representation from post-secondary institutions,
business, labour, and other interested groups.
The goals of the CEW are to:
- Promote the return and connection
of the adult learner to the educational system;
- Design and develop projects
to increase the linkages between the workplace and
educational providers;
- Facilitate the development of adult
learner friendly institutions.
- Design and implement Recognition
of Prior Learning systems for employers and education
institutions.
To this end the CEW is developing projects in collaboration with workplaces, educational institutions, adult learning centres, and other partners in order to support the adult learner returning to college, university, or other educational endeavors. In particular the CEW works with faculty, administrators, instructors, counselors to identify adult learner focused practices and services and implement them in educational institutions. At the same time, the CEW will partner with employers to recognize learning in the workplace.
