What is a Portfolio?
A collection of evidence which documents individual
knowledge, skills and judgements used for gaining recognition
of learning.
Why Develop a Portfolio?
The cost of not recognizing informal workplace learning
is significant for Canadian industries. At the same
time, many industries and companies are in a state of
transition. The global economy and skills shortages
have brought a new dimension to worker recruitment and
retention. Workplaces need to retain and re-skill their
current workforce in a cost efficient, effective manner.
Portfolio development can be a useful tool for workplaces
and workers in transition.
